The extravagant hippodrome nightclub has been purchased by bingo entrepreneurs Simon and Jerry Thomas. Next summer the building will re open as London’s newest and most extravagant casino, following a huge renovation.
The Thomas has already had their hands in the bingo business as they owned the Beacon Bingo. This father and son duo will finish the £15 million work on their own, even though this had been a joint venture development of the property with other development companies.
Simon Thomas has been quoted on the subject:“Having successfully developed the project to this stage as part of a consortium, and achieved all the necessary permits and licenses, my father and I decided that we would like to see through the redevelopment as the solitary operator and launch what is destined to become one of Europe’s top entertainment venues.”
The Thomas’ believe that after successfully reaching the correct licenses and successful level in the development the two can now continue with the project solo.Hopefully the hippodrome will become Europe’s top arcade and will be launched solely by the Thomas company.
Beacon Bingo the Thomas family bingo company was sold 2 years ago, for a staggering £80 million, this game the father son duo the capital to venture into this new project.
It took a lot of from the two to actually buy the Hippodrome club in London, which was sought for by many. The clubs prime location of the boundaries of Leicester square is why it was so hard to buy. The bingo hall will hopefully become the most popular bingo hall in the UK following its grand opening. For Simon and Jerry Thomas, this is an achievement displays how they have come up a long way to be able to own such a place which is considered as the famous area for business.
The plan of making the casino one which is of a top notch standard means that the finishing touches should make the place amazing. The original plans for the casino were created by another company who has now been bought out so the two members of the Thomas family own the company alone.
The overall cost for the restoration and renovation of the former night club is said to be costing the family around £15 million.
